Greybull Stewardship is seeking an experienced, Director of Information Technology for one of its portfolio companies. Founded in 2010, Greybull is a US-based private investment firm dedicated to helping small, established businesses scale toward their full potential.
Greybull Stewardship’s company is a nationally recognized franchisor with stores in 40 states and seven countries. Three different entities make up the brand at the franchisor level and engages and supports franchisees in forward thinking business models that serve a diverse customer base in the apparel cleaning industry.
Position Summary:
The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for leading enterprise technology, analytics, and digital enablement across a growing portfolio of franchise brands. This leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing a scalable technology vision that supports corporate operations while empowering franchisees with reliable systems, actionable data, and best-in-class tools.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of IT will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, brand teams, and franchise owners—balancing innovation, operational excellence, and franchisee experience. This leader will play a pivotal role in leveraging technology and data to drive performance, consistency, and long-term growth across the system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership and business stakeholders to develop and execute IT strategies that align with organizational and brand-level objectives
- Prepare, manage, and execute the IT operating and capital budgets
- Lead enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives; Utilize Power BI to deliver standardized and ad-hoc reporting, executive dashboards, KPI tracking, and operational insights across brands
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, platforms, and services to improve efficiency, analytics, security, and overall operations; assess cost-benefit and ROI for proposed initiatives
- Oversee the successful delivery of IT projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, timelines, and quality standards
- Evaluate current systems and infrastructure and recommend enhancements or replacements to improve performance, scalability, and reliability
- Proactively install, configure, update, and maintain hardware, software, and cloud-based systems for corporate and brand teams
- Lead the integration of new applications and features using best practices, prioritizing initiatives in collaboration with leadership
- Supervise, train and evaluate IT department employees, ensuring excellent service to others within the organization and franchise network.
- Oversee user onboarding and offboarding processes, including workstation setup, access controls, and security protocols
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the company’s cybersecurity policies, controls, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Provide technical leadership and support across all departments and franchise brands
- Analyze business objectives and translate them into actionable technology and data solution
- Maintain ownership of Point-of-Sale (POS) systems across brands, including vendor management, system conversions, and upgrades
- Establish data governance, data quality standards, and reporting best practices to support franchise and corporate decision-making
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven years of progressive IT experience, with senior-level leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- IT leadership experience within a multi-entity, multi-unit, franchise, or distributed operating environment. Direct experience partnering with franchisees and field operators to deploy, support, and optimize technology solutions preferred.
- Advanced experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, and visualization best practices.
- Hands-on experience leading enterprise technology initiatives from strategy and planning through implementation and adoption.
- Exposure and/or expertise with applications including but not limited to FranConnect CRM, Salesforce, SPOT and Cents POS, Power BI, Azure SQL, and standard office suite applications (Google Suite & MS Office 365).
- Experience integrating analytics and reporting platforms with POS, financial, and operational systems.
- Proven experience managing technology vendors, contracts, and service providers.
- Budget ownership and experience managing IT operating and capital budgets.

Location: While the Company is open to fully remote work from any location within the United States for the right candidate, strong preference will be given to those candidates interested in hybrid (3 days per week), or fully in-person in office in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
Compensation and Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt position. The annual base salary is $100,000-$110,000. Company benefits include robust Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance, 401K with employer match, and Paid Time Off.
