Position Summary
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is a pivotal role within our IT Infrastructure team, situated between the specialist and architect levels. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure solutions to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our organization's technology systems. The IT Infrastructure Engineer plays a key role in infrastructure projects and provides technical expertise to support the organization's IT goals. This is a non-managerial position.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Assist in the design and implement IT infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with architects to translate high-level designs into actionable plans.
- Configure and deploy hardware, software, cloud, and network components.
- Project Leadership:
- Collaborate on infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
- Infrastructure Optimization:
- Continuously evaluate and optimize infrastructure components for performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance infrastructure.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced technical support for complex infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with IT support teams to resolve incidents and problems.
- Participate in incident response efforts when necessary.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
- Share knowledge with team members and contribute to the development of best practices.
- Security and Compliance:
- Assist in implementing security measures and compliance standards within the infrastructure.
- Ensure infrastructure components adhere to industry regulations and internal policies.
- Systems Administration:
- Manage and administer servers, cloud services, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
- Network Administration:
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of infrastructure hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Adhere to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other First Guaranty Bank policies.
- This role may require travel to branch locations.
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure support.
- Proficiency in infrastructure design, including networking, virtualization, and server technologies.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNP) preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with IT teams and understanding of technology solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Expert IT Knowledge (Network/Systems/Storage/Scripting)
- Banking or other financial industry-related experience.
