Job description:
JOB PURPOSE:
The Senior Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall supply chain management across 2 facilities in Houston including managing, organizing and monitoring the storage and distribution of goods. The Senior Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for the entire order cycle to enhance business development and ensure sustainability and customer satisfaction.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Direct management of the Logistics Operations Manager.
• Support management and direction of operational Supervisors and colleagues.
• Manage the strategic and commercial relationship with the on-site Customer.
• Strategically plan and manage the logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services in conjunction with the department heads.
• Own the cost effectiveness of the operation.
• Manage, direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle.
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers.
• Direct, manage and track the quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency of both facilities.
• Manage and direct the arrangement of each warehouse, cataloging the goods, plan routes and process shipments.
• Resolve any arising problems or complaints, effectively and efficiently.
• Coach and develop direct reports ensuring effective leadership and setting the example.
• Meet cost, productivity, accuracy and timeliness targets and SLA’s.
• Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
• Comply with laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
• Attend meeting with the Customer directly.
• Collaborate with functional colleagues effectively to drive efficiencies and make improvements.
• Build strong and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Make key strategic decisions, originate action and be responsible for the consequences of the decisions made.
• Review, assess and simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts, explore and evaluate them systematically and take appropriate and necessary action.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
• Proven working experience as a Senior Logistics Operations Manager.
• Record of successful distribution and logistics management.
• Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
• Proficient in standard logistics software.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
• BS in Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain.
• Ability to present sound and well-reasoned arguments to convince others.
• Adapts and works effectively with a variety of situations, individuals or groups.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Must have a collaborative and team player approach.
• Is able to understand and appreciate different and opposing perspectives on an issue, to adapt an approach as the requirements of a situation change, and to change or easily accept changes within the organization or job requirements.
