Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Earthwork Estimator/Project Manager to join our construction management team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in project coordination, scheduling, and construction processes within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of construction projects, which include but are not limited to change orders, contracts, safety, and SWMP. This position is paid and suitable for candidates eager to gain hands-on experience in construction management. The candidate could expect to make $90,000 - $120,000 per year depending on experience. Company provides a discretionary annual bonus.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules
- Support project coordination efforts by tracking progress, deadlines, and deliverables
- Read and interpret construction drawings to ensure project accuracy
- Collaborate with team members to monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Assist in managing multiple earthwork crews at various job sites
- Assist in preparing construction estimates
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution
- Maintain detailed documentation of project activities, contracts, change orders, and site reports
- Support site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
- Contribute to the review of contracts, scope of work, and technical documents
Skills
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Powercivil and Bluebeam
- Microsoft excel, word, and project skills preferred
- Strong understanding of construction estimating, project scheduling, and project management principles
- Ability to read construction drawings accurately
- Knowledge of contracts management within the construction industry
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, and team members
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety protocols and experience in construction site environments is a plus
- Proactive problem-solving abilities with attention to detail in project documentation and execution
