Mechanical Engineer - Downhole Tools
Location: Houston, TX
A leading energy technology company is seeking Mechanical Engineers with strong experience in downhole tool design to support advanced drilling technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems for downhole tools, including:
- Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS)
- Mud Motors
- MWD/LWD tools
- Execute mechanical design from concept through testing and field deployment
- Support prototyping, testing, and failure analysis efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in downhole tool development
- Hands-on experience with RSS, motors and/or MWD/LWD tools
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Creo or similar)
- Houston-based experience preferred
