Our client, a global Fortune 500 leader and major supplier of industrial and specialty chemical gases, is currently seeking a Distribution Superintendent based out of one of their regional plants in Rogers County near Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This leadership position will be responsible for the day to day management of distribution operations which will include oversight of a team of 25+ drivers and mechanic technicians. This is a front-line role that will respond to unplanned events, work independently, and make technical decisions and recommendations to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of distribution equipment. An understanding of DOT requirements, and truck maintenance procedures are required. This position will also require some operations support and supporting other Distribution Superintendents. Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is required.
Responsibilities include implementing safety programs, new hire and annual training, meeting fixed and variable cost goals, compliance with quality assurance and government regulations, and maintaining tractor and trailer operability through PM and CM completion. This position requires a combination of office work and field work. Accessibility during off-hours (laptop and cell phone) is required.
Requirements:
- 5+ years Transportation/Fleet Management/Distribution management experience.
- 5+ years Trucking Maintenance management experience with PM and audit experience.
- Experience with Hazmat work permits, Lock out Tag out, Management of Change, Driver DOT and Fleet Compliance regulations.
- Ability to facilitate customer, corporate, and 3rd party audits
- Able to build and maintain productive relationships with local team and across departmental lines.
- Critical thinker, problem solver and professional.
- Strong work ethic, not a 9-5 position, accessibility during off hours (this is a 24/7 operation.)
- Excellent communication, team interaction and presentation skills.
- Self-starter, who is comfortable working independently, effectively manages multiple tasks and achieves results with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
- CDL license a plus.
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time.
