Job Description
C2 Group is seeking 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilots with experience supporting Electrical Distribution inspection operations. This role requires a professional approach to flight discipline, strong judgment in dynamic environments, and the ability to operate safely around energized distribution assets. Utility inspection experience in California is preferred.
What You Will Do:
Distribution Pilots support critical inspection efforts that help prevent infrastructure failures and reduce wildfire risk across utility service territories. Operations are performed using multiple UAS platforms, sensor systems in both urban and rural environments.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working as part of a small crew, adapting to changing field conditions, and maintaining high data-quality standards.
This position is based in Southern California and requires ongoing field deployment throughout the project duration.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting pre-flight, flight, and post-flight duties as RPIC
- Inspecting electrical distribution poles, equipment
- Operating safely in live-wire distribution environments
- Supporting flexible crewing models through cross-training
- Participating in safety tailboards and daily operational briefings
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 50 flight hours conducting UAS operations in live electrical environments
- Familiarity with General Aviation Rules
- Strong communication skills in fast-moving field environments
- Ability to crouch, stoop, lean, and lift 25–50+ lbs at least 20% of the time
- Ability to travel and deploy in California for extended periods (up to 6 months)
Required Certifications:
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
- Pilot currency documentation (if applicable)

- Safety tailboard planning and execution

- Engineering or 3D modeling exposure
