Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Systems Administrator to join our IT team.
Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. We provide cradle-to-grave services for primary and secondary composite structures. This position is located in our San Diego, CA office and reports to the Gary Santana, IT Manager.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Junior System Administrator to join our IT team and provide essential support in maintaining and improving our technology infrastructure. This entry-level role is ideal for candidates who are self-motivated and detail-oriented with natural computer savvy and a desire to learn and grow with us. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in systems administration, networking, and IT support who are eager to grow their technical skills in a collaborative environment between cross-functional teams.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network devices.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Provide technical support to end-users via helpdesk tickets, email, and in-person.
- Assist in the management and support of MDM solution.
- Assist with creating and maintaining documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Support user account management including Active Directory, email, and access permissions.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff on infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Provide support to Help Desk technicians.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
- Occasional travel to out-of-state location.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. as needed.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

- Manage project timelines and deliverables independently with minimal oversight.

Required Education and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in IT support or system administration preferred.
- Basic understanding of Windows operating systems.
- Experience with Office 365 is a must.
- Experience with Entra ID, SharePoint, and PowerAutomate a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with networking concepts.
- Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualization technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position falls within $75,000-$85,000. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
