Maintenance Technician
Norridge, IL
PAY RATE COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE - $23.00 per hour
1st and/or 2nd Shift
On-Call/OT/Weekends as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Performs minor routine repairs and maintenance requests of all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)
- Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks, and closets; installs window blinds cabinet installations, countertops installation, and lighting fixture replacement.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintain records of schedules, maintenance procedures, and janitorial inspections.
- Repair electrical equipment, replace light fixtures and change light bulbs control
- Assists with the renovation/remodeling of building; repairs plaster and drywall; plumbing, carpentry, and painting building structures.
- Performs outside custodial duties, such as snow removal, including early arrival when an anticipated need arises.
- Use hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs.
- Perform mandatory overtime as required. Be available for on-call emergencies.
- The ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Assist with janitorial task as requested
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent and one year of responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. Good skill in the use of hand and power tools. Experience repairing drywall and painting.
