Special License, Registration, or Certification Required
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, public administration, emergency management, communication, or related field, and a minimum of 2 years in public service. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Experience in declared disasters, FEMA, HUD, emergency management, project management, grant management, preparedness programming/training, public relations, and/or public finance a plus. FEMA trainings, such as the following, are preferred:
- IS0634 Introduction to FEMA's Public Assistance Program
- IS0322 Flood Mitigation Basics
- IS253.a Overview of FEMA's Environmental and Historic Preservation Review
- IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System
- IS-0200.c: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
- ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
- ICS-400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff
- IS-700.b: Introduction to the National Incident Management System
- IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction
