Job Description:
If you have a passion for carpentry and finish trim, as well as flooring, and enjoy the challenge of building something one of a kind, we would like to talk with you! We are seeking finish carpenters with at least 2 years of professional high-end installation experience to join our incredible team. We are looking for someone to use their skills to apply final details that complement a home; a trade professional who adds the final touches to homes. His/her role is to boost the aesthetic appeal of the home’s interior through additions like staircases, cabinets, and window trims. This individual must also have experience in flooring.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints of the interior of homes.
- Measure dimensions of spaces.
- Ability to cope trim.
- Install crown molding.
- Apply extra detail to baseboards to make sure they fit well in the corners.
- Ensure doors and windows work properly.
- Prepare wood structures for finishing by shaping and trimming with hand or power tools.
- Take measurements to develop a suitable layout for best use of wallboard and trim.
- Install cabinets and trim for new homes.
- Level and shim door frames during a door hanging process.
- Ability to install all doors, shim, and square for proper use.
- Install trim on windows, baseboards, and cabinets.
- Install T & G and shiplap wallboard.
- Prepare subfloors for installation.
- Clear the work surface from dust, debris, and obstructions.
- Prepare the work surface by applying adhesive, grouting, or other appropriate materials.
- Measure and cut flooring materials to fit.
- Install various types of flooring, such as tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl.
- Ensure the flooring is properly sealed and maintained.
Requirements:
● High school diploma or GED.
● 2 years of experience in this area required.
● Basic math skills to calculate accurate measurements.
● Sound knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
● Physical strength and stamina.
● Detail-oriented.
● Demonstrate the ability to safely use hand and power tools.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Manual dexterity and visualization skills.
● Strong organizational skills.
● Effective communication skills.
