Position Overview
GSG is seeking to add a Survey Project Manager to our growing Land Survey department. This position is responsible for the oversight and reporting of budgets and utilization of resources. The Survey Project Manager will be a key point of contact between GSG and our clients and will assist the Survey Department Manager in coordinating the day-to-day operations of staff for multiple land survey projects, including, the tracking of budgets and deliverables.
The Survey Project Manager will be responsible for having knowledge of ALTA/NSPS Surveys, As-built Surveys, Topographic Surveys (conventional, static, and aerial/Lidar), Right of Way, IDOT & Tollway surveys, Property and Boundary Surveys, and obtain any direction and guidance from the Professional Land Surveyor.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Manage assigned land survey projects from start to finish, while ensuring services meet company quality standards and client specifications.
- Assist to develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts
- Establish work plans and staffing requirements for assigned land survey projects.
- Prepare residential and commercial real estate surveys and manage drafting assignments.
- Review title commitments, title documents, and zoning reports and incorporate resulting information into the land survey.
- Demonstrate an understanding of sectionalized land.
- Analyze field work, calculate boundaries, and plot easements.
- Participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
- Maintain strong client relationships.
- Effectively interface with sub-consultants and other business relationships.
- Provide support to other operational units as needed.
- Manage and report financial status including AR/WIP and billing cycles.
- Represent company interests while in meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus four to six years related experience and/or training.
- LSIT or PLS.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficiency with Total Stations, GPS, Data Collectors, Metal Detectors, General surveying equipment, LiDAR data collection and extraction.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Prior experience working in the field on a survey crew.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
