Summary/Objective: The Senior Project Manager oversees and directs all phases of construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role is responsible for managing client relationships, supervising the project team, and coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve successful project completion.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and manage construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
- Develop project budgets, schedules, and work plans; monitor and adjust as needed.
- Oversee daily operations of project teams, including project assistants, engineers, and site supervisors.
- Manage contracts, negotiate change orders, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Communicate with Project Owners and Engineers as a team to identify and solve problems that arise.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Review and approve project documents including drawings, submittals, and progress reports.
- Work closely with Safety Manager to monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Identify and resolve project risks, delays, and conflicts.
- Lead progress meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal staff.
- Ensure projects are completed within established timelines, budget, and quality standards.
- Reviews proposals, quotes, and assess each quote from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prior experience with material planning to effectively prepare, submit, and tracks project submittals/quantities.
- Track and monitor project cost, submits, and certifications.
- Attends and actively participates in pre-bid, pre-construction, and project coordination meetings.
- Force Account processing knowledge.
- Experience in Purchase Order initiation and completion of job billings and invoicing.
- Understanding of job set up in databases (Viewpoint-VISTA experience preferred but not required)
- Maintain EEO Compliance
- Profound organizational skills in maintaining records, distributing minutes, scheduling meetings, and other related documentation.
- Problem solving skills within the organization and projects.
- Perform other duties and tasks as required.
- Occasional travel is required.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience or education focusing on project management and/or operations.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including excel and other construction software.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well individually as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to understand and interpret project plans and specifications.
- Ability to move or transport items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Essential to perform tasks in a construction environment and adhere to all safety requirements.
- Construction experience is strongly preferred.
- Salary will be determined based on experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of construction management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record managing large-scale heavy civil commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software (Viewpoint, FMP, Vector EHS, P3, or other scheduling and estimating software)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
Work Environment:
- Combination of office and field work.
- May require extended hours, travel to job sites, and exposure to construction environment.
Work Hours: 7 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. Additional hours as needed.
Pay Range: $70,000 to $100,000 annual salary depending on experience level.
