Job Description
We are seeking dynamic and results driven Logistics Coordinator to join our Building and Finishing Riverside team. The Logistics Coordinator will perform general logistics support at the plant level as necessary to ensure complete, accurate, and cost-efficient shipments. In addition, the Logistics Coordinator serves as a key interface between the Plant and Customer Care, ensuring that all relative information affecting shipments to external and internal customers is properly communicated to the Customer Care team and other members of the team as required. The information flow must be timely and may include shipment status, product availability, pending shipment status, “logistics and customer service” issues in general to support customer service.
- Coordinate and execute daily outbound shipment plans, including freight for stock transfers between locations in the assigned region
- Develop and manage location daily load plans in collaboration with the Logistics Manager
- Schedule delivery appointments and non-dedicated shipments with outside carriers, adhering to preferred carrier guidelines
- Liaise with and monitor the performance of 3PL service providers, including coordinating manpower requirements
- Complete required daily reporting and act as the main contact for Customer Care, providing timely information on lead times, ready dates, and inventory
- Provide assistance to walk-in customers and support plant operations, including ordering supplies and participating in inventory counts
- Perform administrative duties such as creating purchase orders, receiving raw materials, and distributing documentation to accounting
- Assist the Logistics Warehouse Manager and Plant Manager with other projects as required
Qualifications
- E H.S. Diploma – some college would be desirable
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a dispatching/transportation environment
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Excellent customer service skills DOT
- Computer Literate
- Detail-oriented; multi-tasked
