VP, Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technologies
Reports To: Chief Digital and Information Officer
The Vice President of Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technologies is a leadership position and pivotal in aligning technology strategy with business goals, driving innovation, and ensuring architectural governance across multiple global locations.
- Strategic Role and Leadership: The VP acts as a strategic catalyst uniting vision and execution across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, and security, leading architecture governance and fostering a future-ready operating model.
- Enterprise Architecture Governance: Responsible for setting architectural standards, overseeing application portfolio rationalization, and maintaining blueprints and roadmaps across key platforms like ERP, CRM, and supply chain to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Business Enablement and Innovation: Provides strategic partnership to accelerate innovation, supports AI adoption, ensures architecture alignment with business needs, and champions modern technologies such as AI/ML, data mesh, and cloud-native patterns.
- Collaboration and Advisory: Chairs Architecture Review Boards, collaborates with platform teams and vendors to embed architecture principles, and co-creates practical solutions aligned with enterprise architecture.
- Leadership of Architecture Community: Heads Wella’s Architecture Community of Practice, mentoring solution architects, fostering knowledge sharing, and aligning architecture roles and accountability across domains.
- Architecture Artifacts Management: Owns enterprise-wide architecture documentation, IT strategy, principles, patterns, standards, reference architectures, and service catalogues to support clarity, reuse, and alignment.
- Key Skills and Competencies: Requires expertise in enterprise architecture leadership, hands-on advisory, frameworks like TOGAF and Zachman, technology integration, cross-functional collaboration, platform strategy, governance, and delivery alignment.
Qualifications and Experience: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, preferably an MBA; certifications in TOGAF or cloud architecture; and over 15 years of experience in architecture roles and 8+ years in leadership, ideally in consumer products and federated environments.
Performance Metrics: Success is measured by architecture compliance, integration coverage, platform simplification, business alignment, architecture reuse, governance maturity, ARB decision time, and architecture demand assessment.
We disclose the compensation range for positions in compliance with local law. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, location, experience, skills, and comparisons with internal incumbents in similar roles—pay Range: $250,000 - $325,000 per year, plus bonus. The range listed is just one component of Wella Company's total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual bonus plan or variable pay, depending on the role.
