We are looking for a quality engineer that is driven and can navigate a fast-paced environment. This position assists in the successful operation of the organization’s quality control system. This system assures that only compliant product is shipped to customers and that in-plant scrap and rework are minimized. Failure to perform satisfactorily may result in scrap, rework, delay, dissatisfied customers and added cost to the organization. The applicant must be able to work with customer and especially internal departments on inspection concerns, be able to evaluate nonconformance and help implement corrective actions. Must have a strong working knowledge of GD&T. When parts do not meet print/model, must be able analyze dimensional the nonconformances and explain why the parts do not meet print/model.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree with minimum 2 years on the job experience OR minimum of 8 years in role on the job experience.
Job Duties:
Complete understanding of inspection requirements
Works with Engineering to develop inspection requirements and methods to measure those requirements; assists in improving inspection operations and methods.
Analyzes nonconforming parts to determine root cause of the problem.
Assure that required inspections are carried out and the data is recorded as specified.
Trains inspectors in inspection processes and techniques.
Possesses a working knowledge of Statistical Process Control.
Understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001.
Supervises the work of Quality Inspectors.
Manage the internal calibration program.
Able to perform all functions of direct reports and can substitute for them in their absence.
Capable of performing final visual inspection of product.
Required Skills:
Skilled at using the necessary types of precise measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
CMM (Faro/B&S Global Gantry) – a bonus but can be taught to willing participant
Working knowledge of FMEA
Working knowledge of FAI's
Working knowledge of Control Plans
Working knowledge of SPC and MSA
Working knowledge of APQP
Working knowledge of PPAP
Able to read and understand all aspects GD&T and conventional formatted engineering drawings.
Can perform capability studies GR&R.
