Description
The Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer provides technical expertise and day-to-day operational support for Bodman’s cloud, network, and on-premises infrastructure. This position plays a key role in maintaining the firm’s IT environment by ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of critical systems and services. The engineer will collaborate with internal IT staff, firm stakeholders, and external partners to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable solutions that support business operations across all Bodman offices.
This role requires a broad understanding of infrastructure management, Microsoft cloud technologies, virtualization, networking, and cybersecurity. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining a high-performing, secure, and resilient IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud and Infrastructure Support (40%)
- Administer, manage, and troubleshoot core infrastructure and cloud technologies, including:
- Microsoft technology stack: Windows Server, Active Directory/Entra ID, Exchange, and SQL
- VMware virtualization and storage environments
- Cisco networking, UCS, and Meraki cloud-managed solutions
- Microsoft 365 applications and services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Teams Phone, and OneDrive for Business
- Endpoint management and deployment tools such as Intune, SCCM, and KACE
- Data protection and recovery solutions including Veeam and Zerto
- Maintain system performance, capacity, and uptime through monitoring and preventive maintenance.
- Apply updates, patches, and configuration changes following the firm’s Change Control procedures.
- Participate in infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
IT Projects (30%)
- Contribute to the planning, implementation, and documentation of IT and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to deliver technology solutions aligned with the firm’s goals.
- Assist in evaluating new technologies and recommending improvements to enhance operational efficiency and security.
- Maintain project timelines and communicate progress to the Manager of Cloud and Infrastructure Services.
Cybersecurity Operations (30%)
- Administer Microsoft 365 security and compliance solutions including:
- Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office, Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Purview
- Monitor and manage the firm’s MDR/XDR solutions in partnership with external providers.
- Assist in vulnerability scanning, reporting, and remediation in collaboration with the Security Operations team.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm’s security posture by implementing best practices and participating in incident response activities.
Other Responsibilities include:
- Participating in after-hours maintenance windows or emergency support as needed.
- Supporting business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and cloud systems.
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft, VMware, and Cisco ecosystems.
- Knowledge of data protection, network segmentation, and identity management best practices.
- Familiarity with ITIL or structured change management methodologies preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CCNA, VMware VCP, or CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
