About The Role
We are looking for a
Director of IT to build and lead the IT organization responsible for all corporate technology across a cloud-native, distributed, fast-growing AI company. You will own the full lifecycle of IT operations—including device management, identity lifecycle, SaaS administration, office technology,
IT helpdesk, and all processes needed to support a modern, secure, and compliant work environment.
This role oversees a cloud-first, zero-trust-aligned IT environment with no traditional on-premise product infrastructure beyond office networking, AV systems, and physical security systems. You will also be responsible for
evaluating, selecting, and deploying IT software solutions that power IT operations—such as MDM platforms, helpdesk/ticketing systems, asset management tools, SaaS access governance, automation tooling, and endpoint security integrations.
You will grow and mentor a team responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality IT services to a global workforce while partnering closely with Security, Compliance/GRC, SRE, Engineering, HR/People, and Facilities teams.
What You’ll Do
IT Strategy, Leadership & Team Building
- Build, lead, and mentor the IT organization—including IT Operations, IT Helpdesk, systems administrators, endpoint management, and office technology specialists.
- Define the IT vision and long-term roadmap aligned with business goals, compliance requirements, and zero-trust principles.
- Establish operational excellence through documentation, automation, SLAs, dashboards, and repeatable processes.
Corporate Infrastructure, SaaS Management & IT Tooling
- Own all corporate IT systems including identity providers, collaboration platforms, SaaS applications, and device management tooling.
- Evaluate, select, purchase, and deploy IT software solutions such as:
- MDM/Endpoint management (Jamf, Kandji, Intune)
- Helpdesk/ticketing platforms
- Asset management and inventory systems
- Identity lifecycle and access governance tools
- SaaS management and security platforms
- Automation/orchestration tools to reduce manual work
- Oversee SaaS provisioning and deprovisioning, license management, vendor negotiations, and renewals.
- Maintain strong system integrations across HR/People tools, identity providers, and internal workflows to support seamless onboarding/offboarding.
IT Helpdesk & End-User Experience
- Build and manage a world-class IT Helpdesk responsible for first-line and second-line support for employees.
- Implement helpdesk workflows, ticketing processes, knowledge bases, and automation to ensure fast, high-quality support.
- Track helpdesk performance metrics and continually improve service quality, response times, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide mentorship, training, and development for helpdesk specialists.
Device Lifecycle & Endpoint Management
- Own end-to-end device lifecycle management—procurement, imaging, MDM enrollment, configuration, shipping, returns, and secure disposal.
- Ensure all endpoints meet security, compliance, and operational standards.
- Oversee device fleet health, patching, and endpoint security posture in partnership with the Security team.
Office Technology & Physical Infrastructure
- Lead design and maintenance of office networks, including WiFi, firewalls, segmentation, and secure connectivity.
- Manage office security systems (badge access, cameras, sensors).
- Oversee AV and conference room systems to support seamless hybrid collaboration.
- Partner with Facilities on office buildouts, relocations, and operational readiness.
Compliance, Security Partnership & IT Controls
- Own implementation and maintenance of IT controls required for SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, and other compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with Security and GRC teams on audits, evidence collection, policy enforcement, and risk mitigation.
- Establish and maintain IT policies covering acceptable use, asset management, access control, device standards, and onboarding.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Security, Cloud Security, and SRE teams to ensure device telemetry, identity posture, logging, and access workflows integrate with detection and preventative controls.
- Support Engineering teams with developer tooling, SaaS integrations, and secure access workflows.
- Partner with HR/People on lifecycle processes and employee experience.
- Collaborate with Finance on procurement strategy, budgeting, and vendor management.
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of IT experience, including 4+ years in leadership roles.
- Experience evaluating, selecting, and deploying IT platforms (MDM, helpdesk, asset management, access governance, automation).
- Expertise with identity systems (Okta, Google, Azure AD) and SaaS administration.
- Strong experience with MDM, endpoint security, and device lifecycle workflows.
- Knowledge of office networking, AV systems, and physical security systems.
- Experience supporting or leading IT controls for SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.
- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience.
- Proven ability to build and scale IT teams in high-growth environments.
Preferred Qualifications
