We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to support paper mill projects across multiple Sofidel America sites. This role will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of capital and improvement projects within our paper mill operations, ensuring alignment with company standards, timelines, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee capital and improvement projects specifically for paper mill operations.
- Travel to Sofidel paper mill sites mainly across Western regions of the United States to manage on-site project execution.
- Collaborate with paper mill leadership and cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Manage contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with paper mill project specifications and safety standards.
- Monitor paper mill project schedules and budgets, proactively addressing potential delays or cost overruns.
- Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support during paper mill project execution.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards specific to mill operations.
- Prepare detailed project reports and present updates to management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field required).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in project engineering or project management within a paper mill or heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, process systems, and construction practices related to mill operations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple paper mill projects simultaneously.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to paper mill sites across multiple states, sometimes for extended periods.
