Engineer - Project Manager
Modern Molding, Inc. is a fast-paced custom plastic injection molder that is looking for a Project Manager that can keep up with the rapidly evolving momentum of growth and ingenuity.
The primary role of a Project Manager will be to ensure that all new projects are handled in a timely, orderly, and efficient manner. As the main point of contact for the customer during the new product development process, a project manager should have excellent communication skills, the ability to think fast on one’s feet, and the tenacity to ensure that projects are completed on time. As the intermediary between our company the customer and suppliers, a Project Manager must ensure that all customers’ needs are met, while staying on top of many projects at once.
The ideal candidate would have a 4 year degree in Engineering, a working knowledge of Solidworks modeling software, the ability to think critically, be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team environment. Knowledge and experience with plastic injection molding is a plus.
Responsibilities
· Manage projects from the receipt of a purchase order to customer approval and release for mass production
· Communicate effectively with customer on new part and tool designs, understand customer requirements and how they affect the project
· Keep customers informed on the process of a project to ensure delivery dates are met
· Work with internal Production, Quality and Tooling teams to develop a manufacturing process for new products that is efficient
· Manage customer requirements for part quality and documentation during new product development
· Work with estimating department to quote new tooling and modifications to existing tooling
· Support production of current products and manufacturing challenges
· Participate in design reviews with customers for new product development
· Collaborate with automation team on new processes and products
Desired Skills and Qualifications
· A minimum of 5 years injection molding experience or a bachelor’s degree in engineering
· Solidworks or other CAD software
· Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
· Self-motivated team player that can stay organized with multiple task
· Hands on experience in a manufacturing setting
· Willingness to help coach and educate others on project requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
