Job Summary:

The Trim Carpenter is responsible for installing, repairing, and finishing interior and exterior trim components in residential or commercial buildings. This role requires strong craftsmanship, precise measurement skills, and the ability to produce high-quality finishes that enhance the overall look and function of a structure.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Install interior trim components such as baseboards, crown molding, door and window casings, wainscoting, chair rails, and custom millwork.
Cut, shape, and assemble wood, composite, or specialty materials using hand tools and power tools.
Install and fit interior doors, door hardware, and cabinetry trim.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
Ensure all installations are level, aligned, and meet quality standards.
Perform repairs, adjustments, and refinishing of trim work as needed.
Collaborate with site supervisors, general contractors, and other trades to ensure project timelines are met.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Inspect completed work for accuracy, craftsmanship, and adherence to building codes.

Conditions of Employment:

Proven experience as a trim carpenter or finish carpenter.
Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and finishing methods.
Ability to operate carpentry tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Excellent measuring, layout, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical stamina and ability to lift materials, stand, and perform repetitive motions.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for job sites).
