About the Opportunity
A well-established regional construction company is expanding operations through acquisition and is seeking an experienced Licensed Florida General Contractor to join as a Project Manager and Qualifying Agent.
This is a key leadership position for a licensed professional who wants to leverage their credentials and field experience to help guide a growing company. The role involves both strategic oversight and hands-on project management, including the opportunity to shape operational systems, ensure code compliance, and mentor site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Qualifying Agent (sponsor) for the business’s Florida general contractor license in accordance with DBPR and CILB requirements.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all state and local construction regulations.
- Manage and supervise active construction projects (commercial and residential).
- Coordinate project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships.
- Approve project plans, materials, and contracts in alignment with company policies.
- Support due diligence and licensing integration related to a recent business acquisition.
- Collaborate with ownership on estimating, safety, and quality-control processes.
Qualifications
- Must hold an active Florida Certified General Contractor (CGC) license in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction management or supervisory experience.
- Deep understanding of Florida building codes, permitting, and compliance.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to qualify a business entity with the Florida DBPR.
- Preference for candidates currently located in or near Live Oak, FL
