Summary
The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Bank’s physical and virtual IT infrastructure. Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain all IT infrastructure systems, compute, storage, and networks (physical, virtual, and wireless), ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure performance, identifying and resolving issues promptly. Find opportunities to optimize and simplify the environment.
- Collaborate with IT teams to develop and enforce infrastructure policies and procedures.
- Manage, configure, troubleshoot and support Cisco UCS hardware, VMware hypervisor and other virtualization technologies.
- Manage, configure, troubleshoot and support Physical and Wireless networks. With an emphasis on high availability using redundant links and dynamic routing protocols. Manage, configure, troubleshoot and support SAN/NAS data storage systems. Fiber-Channel experience required.
- Manage, configure, troubleshoot and support Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including SAML/SSO for 3rd party applications.
- Manage, configure, troubleshoot, and support VOIP environment and telecom circuits. Ensure performant collaboration across the enterprise for video conferencing, meetings, and messaging.
- Assist in development and delivery of Citrix Xendesktop Virtual Desktop service to employees on-prem and remote. Validate for optimal performance on a daily basis and look for ways to improve.
- Assist in Management and configuration of firewalls and core security products to create effective segmentation and reliable monitoring /reporting of events.
- Monitor and Maintain datacenters for availability performance including backup power and cooling.
- Conduct regular system audits and generate performance reports for management review.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure SLAs are being met and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect and harden IT infrastructure from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities. Perform remediations to systems on a regular basis or as required.
- Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users, addressing infrastructure-related inquiries and issues. Serve as final escalation for any technical IT issue.
- Stay up to date with emerging IT infrastructure trends and technologies to recommend improvements and upgrades.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures. Responsible for backup and restoration of all critical systems and data.
- Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Proactively identify potential risks and develop solutions with team to ensure remediation to potential risks.
- Lead smaller IT projects or components of larger projects, coordinating with various teams to ensure successful implementation, including creating and maintaining project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and related laws as they pertain to the Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program.
Job Requirements
- Dedicated to exceptional service delivery of IT systems availability and performance on a daily basis.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or related industry experience.
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a similar role.
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing all IT infrastructure.
- Expertise in virtualization technologies, such as VMware and Cisco UCS.
- Experience with storage solutions and data management practices.
- In-depth understanding of Physical, Virtual, and Wireless network security principles and best practices.
- Implements systems with least-privilege access and enforces segmentation of services using zero trust principles.
- Has a methodology for managing systems at scale, deploy using standardized templates, maintain secure configurations and encrypted immutable backups.
- Understanding of power and cooling systems / requirements in datacenters.
- Experience in scripting and automation using languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Experience with monitoring and performance optimization tools.
- Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Relevant certifications, such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft MCP, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, are a plus.
- Proficient in the use of banking software applications and computer systems, including Microsoft Office applications, preferred.
