JOB SUMMARY
The Shipping Lead oversees and manages the daily operations of the Hardware Inventory Room. Under the direction of the Hardware Services Manager, the Shipping Lead ensures quality, efficiency and accuracy standards are being met for all shipping and receiving.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delegation of tasks to team members (Shipping Coordinator and Hardware Inventory Specialist) to ensure timely and accurate shipments from Orlando Hardware Inventory Room, order entry, and fulfillment of shipments from external sources.
- Acts as a mentor to the Shipping Coordinator, supporting accountability and unity within the team.
- Responsible for all aspects of inventory control and management for the Orlando Hardware Inventory Room and manages inventory with external sources.
- Coordinates and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders and clients as needed to ensure accurate and timely hardware shipments to clients and provides support when there is a conflict.
- Troubleshooting, research, document and claim management for FedEx account.
- Maintains relationships and coordinates with internal departments and external vendors, to ensure proper inventory levels are kept. Maintains relationships with external vendors when operational discrepancies arise and provides problem resolution and documentation and tracking when necessary. If inventory levels cannot support client orders, or if shipping delays occur, establish proactive communication with clients on order statuses and estimated delivery times.
- Oversees returns and restocking process to include documentation of operational discrepancies; issuance of shipping labels and tracking of shipments to warehouse or vendor; management and tracking of replacement items if necessary; and management of receiving of goods for re-stock or e-waste.
- Seeks opportunities for process improvement to constantly improve our client experience and maintain communication with clients regarding the hardware shipment details or hardware return status.
- May be responsible for additional special projects and tasks as business needs are determined.
Knowledge & Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of effective processes for procurement and logistics.
- Working knowledge of inventory and shipping management and related safety requirements.
- Great interpersonal skills for working with other departments, clients, and partner vendors.
- Working experience with leading others, as this role requires the delegation of some tasks to the Shipping Coordinator and Hardware Inventory Specialist.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and projects appropriately.
- Experience with Microsoft and SharePoint tools such as Word and Excel.
- Excellent written, verbal, and critical thinking skills..
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum years of work experience: 4 year
- Minimum level of education or education/experience: Bachelors or equivalent work experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Regular business hours, Monday – Friday. If additional hours are required, please list here:
- Travel Requirements: Domestic and/or International, up to 10%
