Job Summary:
We're seeking a Shipping Operator to join our Houston Shipping Operations team for handling the TC fleet. As a Shipping Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods on vessels, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and providing exceptional support to our freight traders.
Our ideal candidate must possess interest and knowledge of the marine transport industry handling Oil Tanker Ships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vessel operations and optimize PNL through diligent planning of bunkers, stowage, voyage routing, and vetting.
- Provide support to freight traders with port and terminal information, as well as costing and queries.
- Analyze data for voyage accounting and claims handling, identifying discrepancies and proposing solutions.
- Participate in operations projects, contributing to process improvements and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including shipping operations, freight trading, and finance teams.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in shipping operations or relevant internship experience.
- Handled Oil cargoes - DPP / CPP and basic knowledge of chemical cargoes, with a willingness to learn and develop expertise.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to work outside of normal working hours when necessary.
