About the Role
Safety engineer utilizes combined knowledge of engineering, health and safety requirements to reduce hazards / risk and promote well-being in YMMC processes and programs. Position works cross-functionally with other Yamaha departments and interacts with government, business partners and community. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, management systems and ability to apply programs in industrial manufacturing environment required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting, improving and maintaining YMMC Safety Programs
- Coordinate safety training development and implementation
- Conduct Safety Training
- Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and New Process / Equipment Review
- Ensure follow up and completion of identified action items
- Coordinate incident investigations and prevention of reoccurrence action implementation
- Conduct internal audits
- Maintain EHS equipment
- Support EHS, ISO, CSR and Corporate activities
- Identify and implement safety improvements
- Facilitate safety meetings
- Participate in kaizen and small group safety projects
- Maintain records and required information for government reporting
- Create analysis tracking / graphing and safety communication.
Qualifications
- 2- or 4-year Degree (preferably in Safety/Health or Engineering)
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing safety role
Required Skills
- Must have good knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Standards
- Excellent computer proficiency required (MS-Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- High level of writing skill required
- Audit and investigation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work professionally in teams
Preferred Skills
- Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Experience implementing ergonomics programs
- Web based training development
