About The Job
Kencove Farm Fence is a fast-growing supplier of fencing materials serving farmers, ranchers, contractors, and landowners nationwide. We’re investing heavily in modernization—upgrading our systems, improving warehouse and manufacturing workflows, and creating a better experience for our customers and contractor partners.
We’re looking for a Systems + Infrastructure Lead to own and modernize our IT environment and operational systems. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines infrastructure, systems, security, and process improvement. You’ll work closely with ownership, operations, engineering, and our software team to make sure Kencove runs on reliable, secure, and scalable technology.
If you like building, fixing, improving, and working directly with the people who rely on your systems every day, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Infrastructure and Network
- Own daytoday reliability of our network, WiFi, firewalls, and connectivity across office, warehouse, and production areas
- Manage servers (physical/virtual), storage, backups, and disaster recovery
- Support technology used on the floor: printers, scanners, scales, labelers, and other warehouse/manufacturing devices
Systems and Process Improvement
- Analyze and improve workflows for order processing, inventory, logistics, customer service, and ecommerce
- Lead integrations between ERP, ecommerce platform, internal tools, and vendor systems
- Document processes and create clear SOPs for IT and operations
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement practical solutions
Cloud and Applications
- Administer Google Workspace, ERP, email, and core SaaS tools
- Partner with our software engineers to provide stable environments and basic DevOpsstyle support (environments, access, tooling)
Security and Risk Management
- Implement and maintain security best practices (MFA, patching, endpoint protection, access control)
- Own backup strategy and disaster recovery planning and testing
Leadership and Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with external IT and software vendors
- Plan and execute technology projects, from requirements through rollout
- Contribute to annual IT budgeting and roadmap discussions
- And when something breaks in the real world—WiFi drops in the warehouse, label printers stop working—you’ll roll up your sleeves and help get us back online.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Experience
- 5+ years in IT management, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong knowledge of networking (switching, VLANs, firewalls, VPN)
- Experience supporting warehouse, manufacturing, retail, or similar operational environments
- Handson experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Acumatica, Epicor, or similar)
- Comfortable administering Google Workspace and Windows environments
- Some scripting/automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar)
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and work with multiple departments
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Ecommerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento)
- Supporting software engineering or DevOps workflows
- Barcode/RFID systems or industrial networking
- Background in agriculture, construction, or manufacturing environments
- Experience building or leading a small IT team
Who You Are
- Handson and practical—you’re as comfortable in the warehouse as you are in a meeting
- A systems thinker who wants to fix root causes, not just symptoms
- Clear and direct communicator who can work with nontechnical teammates
- Organized, reliable, and able to prioritize across multiple projects
- Comfortable balancing cost, complexity, and longterm value
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: Approximately $85,000 $115,000, depending on experience and skills
- Performancebased bonus potential
- Benefits package (details to be discussed in interview)
- Opportunity to shape the future of technology at a growing, familyoriented company
