Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced part-time Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in preparing accurate project cost estimates, supporting project bids, and ensuring competitive pricing for construction projects. Duties
- Prepare detailed and accurate construction cost estimates using estimating software.
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
- Conduct negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Analyze costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services to ensure profitability and cost control.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and schedules, supporting overall project management efforts.
- Evaluate potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them during the estimating process.
- Maintain organized records of all estimates, contracts, and related documentation for future reference.
Skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other construction estimating software.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms while fostering positive relationships with vendors and subcontractors.
- In-depth knowledge of construction estimating processes, including cost control and pricing strategies.
- Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of construction management principles.
- Familiarity with contracts, project management practices, and construction law.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in assessing project costs and risks.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
