Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Assistant Project Superintendent to assist with overseeing construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and proficiency with construction management tools. This role requires managing multiple teams, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The Assistant Project Superintendent will play a critical role in assisting with coordinating all aspects of construction operations, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and ensuring project success.
Duties
- Assist with on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth workflow and communication.
- Assist with maintaining detailed project schedules using construction management software.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure accurate understanding of project scope and specifications.
- Monitor progress daily, identify potential delays or issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Oversee quality control measures to meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Assist with site safety programs in compliance with OSHA regulations; conduct safety meetings and inspections regularly.
- Control project budgets by tracking costs, managing resources efficiently, and overseeing procurement processes.
- Ensure proper documentation of work activities, change orders, and project records for accountability and future reference.
- Assist with technical issues such as blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and use of tools like ohmmeters.
- Enforce adherence to environmental regulations and company policies throughout the construction process.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising large-scale projects.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and other industry-standard tools.
- Solid understanding of contracts, project scheduling, budgeting, and construction estimating processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to supervise teams effectively on active job sites.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to enforce safety protocols consistently.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with construction site equipment including ohmmeters is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders across all project phases.
