Position Overview
The General Manager (GM) provides strategic and operational leadership for NECO Petroleum and its distribution operations. This role ensures excellence across all facets of the business — from fuel logistics, supply management, and pricing strategy to safety, compliance, customer experience, and profitability.
The GM acts as the bridge between operations, business development, and customer engagement — fostering strong relationships with Tribal Nations, vendors, and industry partners while driving sustainable growth consistent with TMG’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety, People, and Culture
- Champion a safety-first culture in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and environmental standards.
- Build a high-performance, values-driven team emphasizing accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with People Operations to recruit, train, and retain skilled drivers and operations staff.
- Oversee driver training, certifications, and readiness for audits or inspections.
2. Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Translate TMG’s mission into operational goals and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee daily logistics, dispatch, fleet operations, and terminal management in partnership with the Director of Petroleum.
- Manage both in-house and third-party trucking operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient delivery.
- Lead end-to-end fuel supply and pricing strategy, optimizing cost, risk, and market position.
- Evaluate multi-state expansion opportunities and ensure regulatory and operational readiness.
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Compliance, Business Development, Customer Experience, and Maintenance to align strategy and execution.
3. Financial & Business Management
- Own NECO Petroleum’s P&L, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets.
- Implement cost controls, pricing discipline, and margin optimization.
- Drive ERP and dispatch system modernization for enhanced visibility and efficiency.
- Strengthen supplier relationships for reliable and cost-effective fuel sourcing.
4. Customer & Partner Relationships
- Build and sustain strong relationships with Tribal Nations, industry partners, and customers.
- Collaborate with Business Development and Customer Experience teams to deliver exceptional service.
- Support growth through new partnerships and diversified business opportunities.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in trucking, transportation logistics, or fuel distribution; at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Expertise in fuel supply, pricing, terminal operations, and wholesale distribution.
- Deep understanding of petroleum regulations, DOT compliance, and ERP/fleet management systems.
- Experience managing multi-state operations and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with or within Tribal enterprises strongly preferred.

Physical & Work Environment
- Combination of office and field environments; regular site visits required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb during inspections.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 25 lbs.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, fuel odors, and moderate noise.
- Regular travel within the U.S.; cross-border travel into Canada may be required.
