The Oklahoma City Thunder is seeking a customer-focused IT Support Specialist to serve as the primary helpdesk technician for our Basketball Operations. This full-time position is based primarily at the Thunder ION Practice Facility, where you will support day-to-day end-user IT needs, with a focus on MacOS administration and management. Additionally, the role provides NBA gameday technology operations support at the Paycom Center. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and proven experience supporting MacOS environments in fast-paced, high-performance settings.
In this role you will:
Helpdesk & End-User IT Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for IT issues at the practice facility and remotely across departments
- Specialize in MacOS administration, including system setup, configuration, updates, and user support
- Troubleshoot both MacOS and Windows devices, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices
- Administer and support mobile device management (MDM) platforms, including enrollment, policy configuration, and compliance monitoring
- Manage and resolve tickets in the IT helpdesk system with attention to detail and follow-through
- Maintain accurate documentation, asset records, and user onboarding/offboarding processes
- Provide support for Microsoft 365, network printing, user access, and common business applications
- Develop and maintain end-user training resources and technical documentation
Gameday IT Operations
- Support setup, testing, and real-time troubleshooting for Thunder and Blue home games
- Maintain gameday systems, networking hardware, printers, and laptops in a fast-paced live environment
- Work closely with internal departments and external vendors during games
- Document post-game support reports and track issue resolutions
Infrastructure & Project Assistance
- Assist with basic network tasks, including port changes and wireless support
- Participate in IT equipment deployments and office technology upgrades
- Help monitor environmental and power systems used in IT infrastructure
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables
What you’ll bring to the role: - Associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in IT helpdesk or desktop support
- Proficiency in:
- MacOS administration (system imaging, updates, security settings, user support)
- Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Windows support
- Printer, A/V, and conference room system troubleshooting
- Experience with Jamf or other MDM solutions (preferred)
- Understanding of fundamental cybersecurity practices
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts and tools
- Take pride in solving user problems and delivering calm, professional support
- Excel at staying organized and communicating clearly, even under pressure
- Want to expand your skills in both traditional IT support and live-event technology
Additional Details:
This is a full-time, hourly, in-person position reporting to the Apple Technology Coordinator. The primary work location is the Thunder Ion Practice Facility with a secondary location at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. The role requires flexible hours, including Thunder home games and special events, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs, and crouch as needed. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the season is required.
