Job Title: Mechanical Design/Drafting Engineer II
Pay Rate: $40 to $46/Hr

Location: Austin, TX
Shift - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
This position is for the Healthcare Diagnostics division.
We are looking for a Mechanical Design/Drafting Engineer II
This position will provide design and drafting support to the R&D, Sustaining R&D, and Manufacturing Engineering teams. Our Products supported include Intelliblade (microwave ablation) and cryotherapy systems for cancer treatment.
- Produce drawings and documents using SolidWorks software.
- Perform engineering design calculations.
- Work with a cross-functional team to collect project information and communicate findings both orally and in writing.
- Work as a team member on various projects.
- Design and produce 3D printed fixtures for manufacturing, testing, etc.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Prepares layouts, drawings, and designs according to engineering specifications.
- Participates in reviewing engineering drawings and supporting documents for adherence to drafting standards.
- Creates CAD design layouts and detail drawings of products, including PCB layout.
- Retrieves information from a file and displays it on the computer, using the required computer language.
- Displays final drawings to verify completeness, clarity, and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Entry-level mechanical engineers with strong drafting skills or 4+ years of experience in mechanical design industries (e.g., aerospace, defense) or an Associate's degree in drafting or STEM.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo, and tooling design.
- Experience with revision control and drawing standards.
- Experience with PDM system administration within SolidWorks, Windchill, PTC Creo, or Siemens Teamcenter.
- Creating complex parts & drawings, assemblies in SolidWorks or other drafting applications (Solid Edge, Pro E).
- Medical device experience not required.
- Training in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Must be hands-on in the lab, building parts, or prototyping.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with medical device design control and the medical device industry.
- Junior to mid-level engineers who are strong in drafting.
- Bachelor's degree or associate’s degree with years of experience (exceptions can be made).
