We are now launching a brand-new Infrastructure & Data Center recruitment division in New York, and we are hiring a Head of Infrastructure to establish, grow, and lead this vertical for North America.
Role Overview
This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity to build a completely new team and market vertical for a global brand. As the Head of Infrastructure, you will launch and scale Spencer Ogden’s dedicated Data Center & Infrastructure practice in New York setting the strategy, hiring your team, owning client relationships, and becoming the face of SO’s mission-critical infrastructure business in the U.S.
You will cover one of North America’s fastest-growing sectors. The Data Center market is experiencing unprecedented investment, driven by cloud computing, AI demand, hyperscale expansion, and grid modernization. Developers, operators, EPCs, and engineering firms are competing for talent, creating huge recruitment demand and a long-term revenue runway.
This role gives you autonomy, ownership, and the opportunity to build a legacy business line from day one.

What You’ll Do
Launch & Lead the Division
- Establish Spencer Ogden’s Infrastructure & Data Center practice in New York.
- Define the vertical structure, growth model, and commercial strategy.
- Lead key initiatives including market mapping, brand positioning, and sector penetration.
Hire & Develop Your Team
- Recruit and onboard consultants, senior recruiters, and future team leads.
- Build a high-performance, sales-driven culture.
- Coach consultants on BD, delivery, and market specialization.
Drive Commercial Growth
- Target and win new business across data centers, mission-critical facilities, utilities, and large-scale infrastructure.
- Develop relationships with hyperscale operators, colocation providers, EPCs, engineering firms, power delivery companies, and construction management groups.
- Grow key accounts and win retained, exclusive, and multi-hire agreements.
Strengthen Market Position
- Become a recognized expert in mission-critical infrastructure recruitment.
- Identify emerging trends-AI workloads, renewable integration, microgrids, T&D expansion, construction acceleration.
- Collaborate with other SO teams in the U.S., UK, and APAC on cross-border projects and global accounts.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven success in recruitment, ideally across infrastructure, data centers, construction, power delivery, or technical engineering.
- Experience building or leading teams, or strong leadership potential with a high personal billing background.
- Strong business development capability and history of winning and scaling client accounts.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build, own, and scale a business line.
- Strategic thinking: able to assess market opportunity, forecast growth, and build a long-term plan.
- Motivated by autonomy, responsibility, and creating something new not inheriting an existing desk.
