Overview
Seeking an experienced Vice President of New Product Development Engineering to lead a global team of Product Design and Mechanical Engineers. This executive will oversee the full design and development process, guiding teams through innovation, product architecture, and engineering execution to bring consumer-driven concepts to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a global engineering team to deliver innovative, high-quality consumer products from concept through mass production.
- Partner with R&D, Product Development, Marketing, and Quality teams to ensure alignment across design, performance, and manufacturing.
- Direct the creation of concept models, CAD layouts, and prototypes to evaluate design feasibility and functionality.
- Apply sound engineering principles to optimize designs for cost, performance, and manufacturability.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to accelerate time-to-market for new products.
- Oversee verification and validation testing to ensure reliability and compliance.
- Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Manage external technology partners to deliver engineering solutions efficiently.
- Continuously assess and improve design processes, cost-effectiveness, and product quality.
- Identify and champion new technologies, materials, and ideas to maintain a leading market position.
Qualifications
- Proven record of successfully taking consumer product concepts through to mass production.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
- Extensive experience leading large-scale product design and development teams.
- Deep knowledge of mechanical design, high-volume manufacturing, and design for manufacturability.
- Expertise in processes such as plastic injection molding, sheet metal, and die casting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of mechanical and physical design principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Global leadership experience with a track record of delivering profitable, high-impact products.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual Salary Range: $183,800 – $281,800 USD
