SUMMARY:
The System Administrator is involved in the design, implementation, modification, improvement, and day-to-day sustainment of credit union infrastructure systems and applications as well as supporting end-user systems such as workstations and laptops.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following
- Implement system architecture changes to Windows/Linux servers’ and associated applications’ configurations to optimize infrastructure resources and enhance security posture.
- Assists Network Administrator(s) with firewall, endpoint protection, and other security appliances/software to protect network resources. Administers and maintains enterprise backup systems and solutions, ensuring data integrity, recoverability, and adherence to defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) Monitors and manages all IT infrastructure and critical business systems utilizing enterprise monitoring tools to ensure high availability, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Administers endpoint images, application deployment packages, vulnerability management by testing and deploying Microsoft, application, and third-party patches and upgrades via Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Intune.
- Administers Azure Active Directory/Entra ID tenant including domain(s), administrative units, roles, users, groups, devices, and application/service principals.
- Administers Windows Active Directory domain, sites, group policy objects, organizational units, groups, computers, and user objects.
- Assists Network Administrator(s) with managing and supporting network services including DHCP, DNS, and other network services as needed.
- Provides Tier II support for infrastructure systems and services, endpoints, servers, and applications including troubleshooting issues, repairing hardware, and remediating problems.
- Administers cloud and on-premise software licensing compliance on infrastructure systems, endpoints, and infrastructure applications.
- Administers cloud and on-premise infrastructure hardware, systems, endpoints, and infrastructure applications. Assists in administration of storage area network (SAN) and other storage appliances(e.g., creating new LUNs, changing size allocation, etc.) and maintains file shares.
- Administers SQL servers including maintenance jobs and backups.
- Assists in the creation, execution, and tracking of Plan of Action and Milestones (PoAM) in responding to audits and examinations.
- Assists with support of Data Processing applications and services to include servers and applications.
- Administers VMware virtualization environment, assists with the deployment of new virtual machines, upgrades, creation of new templates, deploy tool updates, etc.
- Prepares technical documentation including deployment guides, troubleshooting guides, systems architecture documents, data flow documents, etc.
- As part of a team, work with VP of Information Technology, Information Technology Manager and Data Processing Manager to deploy new servers, services, and applications.
- As required, travel to branch locations to provide support and install/maintain equipment or software.
- As directed, deploy new systems/technologies under supervision of the VP of Information Technology and/or Information Technology Manager.
- Administers and supports Microsoft Office 365 components including: M365 licensing, Security and Compliance, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

A minimum amount of downtime for any infrastructure services, device, server, or endpoint is an essential standard of performance. Meet or exceed established KPIs as defined by the CIO, VP of Information Technology, and IT Manager.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in computer sciences or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions. The position requires experience installing and maintaining infrastructure solutions including network systems and services, virtualization solutions, business continuity systems and services, using Microsoft solutions and/or training in the installation and maintenance of the various systems detailed above. Additionally, experience should include ability to manage and troubleshoot various infrastructure systems hardware. Experience with storage fundamentals and backup principles is essential. A candidate must possess solid understanding of network principles (e.g., TCP/IP, OSI model, etc.).
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents produced by the data processing system, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as speak effectively before groups of managers, employees, or directors of organization is required.
Mathematical Skills
The aptitude to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume is required.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. The candidate must possess the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) - (current) or equivalent experience/certification is preferred. Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+is preferred.
OTHER SKILLS And ABILITIES
A candidate must possess knowledge of all credit union departmental procedures and ability to adjust computer parameters to conform to policy changes. A successful candidate is a self-starter with the ability and willingness to work alone and during irregular hours and days.
This position requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Office 365 (M365), Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft SQL Server, JAMF and Intune MDM, security products, Fortinet Firewalls, VMware vCenter, Windows PowerShell, and mobile technologies.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) is required. Annually complete and achieve passing scores on various SAFE FCU Policy, Procedure, Development and Enhancement Curriculum.
