About the Role
Bridge engineering design and manufacturing execution for cutting-edge thermal systems. Lead the production of cooling distribution units (CDUs), heat exchangers, and thermal equipment from NPI through mass production—delivering quality products on time, within budget, while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing processes for thermal systems including CDU installation, commissioning, and nitrogen charging equipment
- Drive value engineering initiatives that reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality by capturing DFx feedback, analyzing yield data, and identifying improvement opportunities across assembly processes, cosmetic appearance, and workflow optimization
- Optimize manufacturing operations by assessing automation cycle time, proposing waste reduction strategies, and recommending technology aids, product design changes, and workspace layout modifications to achieve optimal quality and efficiency
- Strengthen supplier partnerships to optimize critical manufacturing process parameters, coordinate procurement of specialized equipment and materials, and apply industry-standard methodologies to achieve capacity and cost targets
- Troubleshoot thermal systems issues, root cause failures, and implement corrective actions using DMAIC, RCA, and statistical process control
- Develop assembly fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing specifications through systematic validation
- Manage production tooling, equipment calibration, and maintenance for heat treatment and commissioning systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Thermal Engineering
- 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
- Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo), ERP/SAP systems, and process simulation tools
- Proficiency in Lean production, Six Sigma, PFMEA, GD&T, and root cause analysis
- Hands-on problem solver with excellent communication and project management skills
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge of thermal design, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics
- Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification
- Experience with brazing, welding, thermal testing (pressure tests, thermal cycling)
- Knowledge of P&ID, thermal schematics, and contract manufacturer management
