IT Administrator – Southeast Houston (2 Locations)
Position Type: Full-Time, Mid-Level
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Compensation: $25 – $30 per hour, based on experience
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Administrator to provide hands-on technical support for two locations in Southeast Houston. This mid-level role is ideal for a professional with a solid background in managing and maintaining Windows-based environments and providing exceptional end-user support.
The IT Administrator will be responsible for maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while supporting day-to-day operations. The role involves working both independently and collaboratively with team members and users to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and support business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for all IT systems across two Southeast Houston locations.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows PCs, servers, and related hardware/software.
- Manage Microsoft Azure environments, including user accounts, permissions, and cloud services.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls, routers, and network switches to ensure secure and reliable connectivity.
- Administer VMware virtual environments, including backups and system snapshots.
- Oversee data backup and recovery processes to protect company information.
- Maintain and troubleshoot printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Implement and monitor IT security measures, including antivirus, patching, and access controls.
- Document configurations, procedures, and system changes.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support IT projects and resolve escalated issues.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in IT support or systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure administration.
- Familiarity with VMware virtualization.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs).
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, routers, and switches.
- Understanding of data backup systems and best practices for disaster recovery.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Preferred (Not Required):
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
- Experience supporting multi-site environments.
- Familiarity with Office 365 administration.
