Job Description:
Compensation: $70,000 - 80,000 annually (DOE)
Goals and Objectives:
Recruit, hire and train AmeriCorps members to place at our partners in throughout the state
Ensure members are serving an average of 40 hours per week through their contract
Ensure Members are providing services in Disaster Preparedness, and Food Insecurity Operations a minimum of 20 hours per week
Work with members and partners to meet the specified individual requirements outlined in the grant
Deploy as Team Lead to state-wide deployments for a minimum of two weeks each
Responsibilities:
Recruit, train and manage a deployable group of AmeriCorps members when requested by California Volunteers and California Office of Emergency Services
Ensure CERC members complete their minimum hour requirements by the end of their contracts
Create a comprehensive disaster-response training plan for AmeriCorps members hosting two training events per month virtually or in-person aligning to Incident Command Structure doctrine and best-practices for state-wide members
Conduct member disaster simulations for state-wide members
Ensure the health and safety of all deployment personnel for the full duration of the assignment
Create a program-wide “gray sky” Incident Action Plan and Standard Operating Procedure for state-wide program
Ensure all members complete FEMA ICS 100, 200, and Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services, Sheltering Operations, Everyone is Welcome and Psychological First Aid, and other training as assigned
Establish collaborative partnerships with local organizations
Work in partnership with BACR Operations and Human Resources for continual support of members and on-boarding processes and procedures
Ensure inventory control of deployment gear for all state-wide members
Responsible for individual member goal setting, mid-year evaluation and end of year
Qualifications:
Willingness to participate in disaster response operations for up to two weeks or longer
Willingness to learn and participate in disaster cycle services (Preparedness, Response, Recovery) operations
Strong team and individual leadership skills
Logistics and inventory control management
Adept to detailed planning
Ability to adapt to unexpected circumstances and changing priorities
Ability to work with diverse individuals
Proficiency/willingness to learn data keeping systems i.e. Google, Salesforce, Box etc…
Ability to complete projects in a timely manner following all program guidelines and compliance requirements
Experience:
Working within the parameters of state/federal grants
Managing and leading teams of diverse individuals
Working within a fast-paced and fluid environment
Collecting, organizing, and displaying program data sets
