Build homes, build community, and help build a growing Missoula team.
McCall Homes is an owner-operated, family homebuilder, and our Western Montana division is growing. We're looking for an experienced field project manager to lead construction of our homes in Missoula, including Old Sawmill District and Linda Vista, with more neighborhoods coming.
This is a field role. You'll run the job from dig to closing and lead the subcontracted trade partners who build our homes. If you've been a superintendent or a residential construction PM, this is that job, with more ownership and a real voice in how it's done.
WHY MCCALL HOMES
- You'll work alongside ownership. We're a family company, not a corporate chain. The division president is here in Missoula and his door is always open.
- You'll help shape the Missoula team. Western Montana is a growing division. There's no rulebook handed down for this role, and we want someone who will make it their own.
- We build with modern tools. You'll need to know your way around a hammer and an iPad. Your schedules, purchasing, options and estimating all run on one all-in-one system, from your tablet or phone. We also use the latest AI tools to make construction more efficient, and you'll have the freedom to use them however works best for you. The payoff reaches everyone: an easier job for you, a smoother process for our trade partners and a better experience for our homeowners.
- Homes you'll be proud of. We build livable, distinctive designs inspired by historic architecture, in walkable neighborhoods where people know their neighbors, at prices working families can reach.
- Flexibility that's real. Our Billings team works half-day Fridays, and we're open to bringing that to Missoula too. If you need to catch your kid's game, take a trip or get to an appointment, the team covers for you. We care about you as a person, not just about getting the job done.
- A company vehicle. We provide the truck.
- Room to grow. We're working toward becoming Montana's homebuilder, and as we grow, the opportunities grow with us.
- Missoula. Rivers, trails, mountains, a great college town. If you've been looking for a reason to move here, this could be it.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead day-to-day construction on your assigned homes, from pre-construction review of plans, estimates and schedules through final walk and closing.
- Schedule and coordinate trade partners and suppliers so deliveries arrive just in time and the schedule holds, with no dead runs.
- Keep every schedule current in our online scheduling system. Approve POs, complete scope of work checklists, and process variance POs accurately and on time.
- Check in materials against packing slips, verify orders are complete and undamaged, and manage returns.
- Build and grow a strong Missoula trade base. Recruit trade partners, hold them accountable and help them improve.
- Hold pre-construction meetings with homeowners and handle tough requests with professionalism and care.
- Run punch lists, schedule third-party inspections and deliver a finished home you'd be proud to hand over.
- Handle pre-closing walk-through items and assigned after-closing service work.
- Run safe, clean job sites that follow our Safety and Health Plan and OSHA requirements.
- Take part in weekly production meetings covering scheduling, field problems and budget, and in ongoing training on leadership and safety.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Several years running residential construction in the field as a superintendent, construction PM or similar
- The technical know-how to diagnose field problems and solve them
- Comfort with technology and curiosity about new tools. You don't need to be an expert, just willing to dig in and figure out how they can work for you.
- Strong organization, with the ability to manage schedules across multiple homes at once
- People skills to work through conflict with homeowners, inspectors and trade partners
- A willingness to pick up a tool. During punch-out, you're not above a drywall patch or a paint touch-up.
- A fit with our core values: We care about people. We do the right thing. We are visionary. We are team players.
