Project Manager – Construction
Location: Twin Falls, Idaho
Travel: Heavy travel required throughout the Western U.S.
Company: P.W. Feenstra Construction, Inc.
P.W. Feenstra Construction is looking for an experienced, driven Project Manager to help lead large-scale construction projects throughout the Western United States.
This is not a position for someone who wants to manage projects entirely from behind a desk. We are looking for someone who understands construction in the field, takes ownership, communicates well, solves problems quickly, and knows how to keep people and resources productive.
Our projects include large agricultural facilities, concrete construction, infrastructure, paving, material production, and general contracting. Many of our projects are large, complex, fast-moving, and located in rural areas throughout multiple states.
The right person will be based in Twin Falls, Idaho and must be comfortable traveling extensively to active projects.
What You’ll Do
- Manage projects from startup through completion.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and materials.
- Build and maintain project schedules and short-term look-ahead plans.
- Understand the entire project, not just an individual scope.
- Identify upcoming problems, manpower needs, material needs, and scheduling conflicts before they affect production.
- Work directly with superintendents and foremen to keep jobs moving.
- Manage subcontractor scopes, contracts, change orders, RFIs, and project documentation.
- Track project costs, quantities, production, commitments, and profitability.
- Communicate regularly with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and company leadership.
- Visit jobsites frequently and understand what is actually happening in the field.
- Coordinate work across multiple trades and projects when necessary.
- Hold subcontractors and internal teams accountable for commitments.
- Develop solutions instead of simply reporting problems.
- Maintain quality, safety, schedule, and financial expectations throughout the project.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of construction project management experience.
- Strong understanding of field operations and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read plans, specifications, scopes, schedules, and contracts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience managing budgets, cost tracking, purchasing, and change orders.
- Ability to manage multiple subcontractors, crews, and priorities at the same time.
- Comfortable making decisions and taking responsibility for results.
- Ability to think several steps ahead instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving construction environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Experience in concrete, agricultural construction, dairy facilities, heavy civil, structural steel, paving, earthwork, utilities, or large commercial construction is highly valued.
Heavy Travel Required
Our projects are spread throughout the Western United States. Candidates should expect regular overnight travel and extended periods working near active projects.
This position is best suited for someone who enjoys being involved in the work, visiting jobsites, solving problems, coordinating people, and seeing large projects come together.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Project Manager at P.W. Feenstra does not wait until a problem becomes an emergency.
They know what needs to happen today, what needs to happen next week, what materials and equipment are coming, what subcontractors are doing, where the critical path is, where the project stands financially, and what decisions need to be made now to keep the project moving.
We value people who take ownership, think independently, communicate clearly, and get things done.
Compensation
Competitive compensation based on experience and capabilities.
