One World Link (OWL) AmeriCorps members (ACM) will serve with rural non-profits, using capacity building activities that will expand, support, and create effective initiatives to further the missions of these organizations to enable them to provide better and sustained direct services in Middle/South Georgia. ACMs are needed to tackle some of the toughest problems in South Georgia including education, economic opportunities, healthy futures, homelessness, and financial literacy. All ACMs receive a modest, monthly living allowance. Half-Time and Minimum-time ACMs are eligible for receiving the Segal Education Award upon successful completion of the service program. ACMs expected to complete all required trainings and attend local program activities and events.
Member Duties : The OWL Rural Georgia AmeriCorps Program will engage in service at least 5-35 hours a week during the service term, depending on slot assignment. OWL ACMs will support service sites in rural locations that provide services to 25 South Georgia counties. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: volunteer recruitment, assisting with planning community events, data entry, assist with services related to financial literacy, increase organization efficiency, participating in Esprit de Corps activities, etc.
