Custom Fabricating & Repair, Inc. (CFR) is offering another great opportunity to join our team at our Marshfield, WI campus! We are currently seeking motivated, safety minded individuals for our Automation Project Engineer/Project Manager position.
Job Type: Full-Time exempt (45-hour week)
Pay: $75,000-$95,000 contingent on (position and industry) skill set and experience level
Overview:
Our Automation Project Engineer/Project Manager position offers the exciting opportunity to take on the automation project engineering and project management activities for the stainless-steel equipment and systems CFR supplies to our varied dairy, food and beverage industry customers. You will need the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and have experience with a variety of project engineering and project management activities. A minimal (<10%) amount of travel may be required for various customer site visits, training, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to CFR’s safe work policies and practices, and wear appropriate PPE for duties being performed.
- Communicate with automation department management and other management staff, various other departmental staff, process engineers, mechanical engineers, customers and vendors to define automation scope and architecture for projects.
- Communicate with automation design engineers to facilitate the design of control panels, motor panels and HMI panels.
- Communicate with automation design engineers to facilitate the development of automation (panels and instrumentation) BOM’s.
- Order all project related automation components and materials and track their delivery.
- Communicate with automation design engineers to facilitate the design of control and information networks.
- Communicate system programming requirements with automation engineers (programmers).
· Coordinate project deliverables with other engineers, designers, programmers and technicians.
· Maintain continuous alignment of project scope with defined objectives.
· Monitor progress of projects, identify problems and participate in their solutions.
- Conduct project related research.
- Knowledge of receiving bays, storage systems (tanks/silos), HTST’s, separators, cheese making equipment, evaporators, dryers, CIP systems (multi-user), etc. is highly desirable.

Education:
· BS degree in Project management, Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electronic Engineering is desired. Consideration will be given to other degrees.
· 5+ years of experience highly preferred.
· Experience in the dairy, food and/or beverage industries preferred.
· Ability to understand P&ID drawings, network diagrams, panel layout drawings and electrical schematics.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Ability to travel (overnight stays) <10%.
