JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the execution of transportation plans and strategies, focusing on safety, service, cost and productivity. The Transportation Analyst responsible for monitoring data flows and synchronization activities between critical business systems used in both upstream replenishment and downstream fulfillment processes and also preparing and distributing daily, weekly, and monthly Transportation reports. This position will handle repeatable analysis and tasks driving continuous cost and service improvement by recommending and implementing stated improvements. The position must work effectively across multiple division, and cooperatively with numerous service providers.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain or related field or (3) three years of equivalent work experience.
Preferred: Hazardous material transport certification, classes in DOT regulations and requirements.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: A minimum of (2) two years of transportation or logistics experience, including: carrier management, transportation planning, project management, logistics analysis, or financial analysis, required for this position.
Preferred: A minimum of (5) five years transportation or logistics experience, a similar area of study or routing and dispatch experience.
POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification
Required: Ability to work well under pressure in a multi-tasking, fast paced environment. Intermediate skills in MS Excel, MS Word. Strong understanding of financial and logistic information systems. Ability to manipulate/create Excel pivot tables.
Preferred: Knowledge of DOT Regulations.

- Proactively monitor and manage key performance indicators and execute root cause analysis utilizing operating systems and Transportation Intelligence, for continuous process improvement activities.
- Monitor Customer, Site, Business Unit, and Daily order and Shipment queries continuously throughout the day. Ensure orders are optimized through utilization of shipment consolidation queries. Document reason codes for shipments not consolidated
- Ensure timely and cost-effective execution of designated productivity projects, engineered freight initiatives, customer collaboration programs, and Adaptive Supply Chain events
- Cohesively work with internal Customer Service to resolve problems and/or support implementations
- Corrects reporting discrepancies to ensure results reflect accurate data and manages and validates the accrual consolidation process.
- Review transportation services to identify discrepancies in report results and provides transportation network cost management
- Interprets transportation service data to identify and resolve transit issues, in order to maintain and increase volume.
- Partners closely with Distribution Manager to develop annual operations and strategy reports.
- Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution.
- Monitor payment systems to ensure accuracy of vendor payments.
- Execute analysis and data preparation in support of sales activities.
- Contact carriers for rates or schedules.
- Assists reporting solution administration, providing analytical queries and tools for operational management as needed.
- Ability to utilize various tools combined with logic to build the most efficient routes possible while maintaining a high level of customer service.
