Job Title: Process Control Engineer 2

Contract duration: 12 month contract with potential to extend or convert
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Process Control Engineer 2 to support supplier quality, product supply strategies, and manufacturing process improvements within a global engineering and manufacturing environment. This role will focus on managing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), supplier quality initiatives, cost management, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) activities from concept through production. The ideal candidate will have experience collaborating with engineering, suppliers, quality teams, and supply chain partners to ensure components meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations. This position requires strong manufacturing process knowledge, the ability to interpret engineering documentation, and experience utilizing tools such as Teamcenter, Excel, and engineering design systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and cost management activities from concept through Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), ensuring components meet quality, cost, and timing objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supplier development, quality, packaging, transportation, procurement, and supply chain teams.
- Utilize Teamcenter and workflow processes to support engineering collaboration, supplier identification, and component sourcing activities.
- Support supplier quality initiatives by identifying issues, escalating supplier defects, and partnering with supplier development teams on containment and corrective actions.
- Implement product supply strategies aligned with category management goals to optimize supplier networks and improve competitiveness.
- Manage quality feedback loops to ensure lessons learned from defects are incorporated across the supplier base.
- Drive Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives through cost modeling, design for manufacturability reviews, and leveraging supplier capabilities.
- Analyze manufacturing processes and recommend improvements related to quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, formulas, and computer-generated reports to support product development and supplier activities.
- Prepare and communicate presentations, reports, and project updates to stakeholders and management.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, supplier quality, or related engineering environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (Mechanical, Industrial, or Supply Chain Engineering accepted).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supplier quality practices.
- Experience with APQP processes and the ability to apply quality planning methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing priorities and deliverables.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, formulas, and technical reports.
Technical Skills:
- Teamcenter experience preferred.
- Experience with 3D modeling tools or Creo preferred.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma processes preferred.
- Experience with cost modeling or should-cost analysis preferred.
- Understanding of design for manufacturability principles preferred
