Role Overview
Responsible for managing the on-site operations of a dedicated fleet, leading the fleet team to ensure on-time deliveries, optimal tractor utilization, safety compliance, and efficient reverse logistics. Develops and oversees the fleet budget and performance metrics, ensuring adherence to regulations and organizational goals.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage operations, dispatch, track, and report fleet results, focusing on delivery timeliness and safety.
- Collaborate on strategic planning to support fleet performance, expense management, and driver growth.
- Oversee driver training, payroll, retention, load dispatch, and equipment usage.
- Build driver relationships to enhance retention, addressing needs like home time and equipment issues.
- Conduct reporting, data analysis, and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven leadership in transportation, with knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Experience managing dedicated fleet operations and OTR drivers.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in transportation software and MS Office.
- Ability to thrive under stress; willingness to travel.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics preferred; experience managing 50+ drivers advantageous.
