Position Overview
Varmoda is seeking a Project Manager 2 to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of an OpenGov software implementation initiative. This role will serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, vendor implementation teams, and external partners to ensure successful project delivery. The Project Manager will oversee implementation activities, stakeholder communication, user adoption efforts, and project governance throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, dependencies, resource assignments, and deliverables.
- Coordinate implementation activities between OpenGov representatives, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
- Lead project kickoff meetings, status reviews, and stakeholder communication efforts.
- Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, and drive resolution to keep implementation activities on track.
- Oversee preparation of data, workflows, documentation, testing, validation, and system readiness activities required for OpenGov deployment.
- Monitor progress against established milestones and adjust project plans as needed to support successful delivery.
- Coordinate end-user training activities and support organizational readiness and adoption efforts.
- Maintain project documentation, meeting notes, status reports, change logs, and post-implementation evaluations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of experience with project management principles, methodologies, and software implementation practices.
- Minimum 6 years of experience with workflow design, process mapping, and change management practices.
- Minimum 6 years of experience managing multiple projects, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines.
- Minimum 6 years of experience using project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
- Minimum 6 years of experience leading cross-functional teams through complex implementation initiatives.
- Minimum 6 years of experience managing large-scale software or system implementations with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work on-site as required during the initial phase of the engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting OpenGov implementations or similar government technology platforms.
- Familiarity with government, municipal, public-sector, or regulatory environments.
- Experience coordinating stakeholder communications across executive leadership, department heads, and vendor teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience facilitating organizational change management and user adoption initiatives.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly language for business stakeholders.
- Experience delivering training programs and supporting end-user readiness efforts.
- Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
