Position: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Boston, MA (Onsite)
Length: 6+ Month Contract
Job Description:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and release of complex electromechanical products from early concept through production. This role requires strong hands-on engineering experience, solid client-facing communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and design teams to deliver refined product solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multiple projects.
- Support the development and maintenance of accurate project plans and proposals.
- Work with clients to identify requirements and help brainstorm, define, and develop product solutions.
- Collaborate with industrial design, UX/UI, and electrical engineering teams to produce refined product designs.
- Identify, perform, and document mechanical engineering analyses as needed.
- Create detailed designs and engineering documentation to support project objectives and production release.
- Interface with vendors for prototyping, tooling, and production support.
- Test and evaluate prototypes, tooling, and first articles.
- Create project and technical reports as required.
Qualifications:
- BSME required; MSME preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in engineering design and development.
- Demonstrated success developing products in robotics, life sciences, consumer products, networking, or automated hardware systems.
- Hands-on experience designing injection molded, sheet metal, and machined components.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks; Creo experience a plus.
- Experience preparing engineering documentation for production release.
- On-the-job analysis experience in at least three of the following areas: tolerance analysis, FEA and/or CFD, fluidics design, heat transfer, or shock and vibration.
- Experience managing complex electromechanical products from early concept into production.
- Strong client interfacing and communication skills.
