Pay Rate: Up to $21- $23.45/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Planner to support day-to-day packaged truck operations by coordinating shipments, monitoring deliveries, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This contract position plays a key role in transportation planning, shipment tracking, and communication with internal teams, customers, and carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily packaged truck deliveries.
- Track and trace shipments while providing timely delivery updates.
- Communicate transportation issues, delays, and potential risks to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate pickups with plants, warehouses, and shipping locations.
- Schedule carrier utilization and manage transportation activities.
- Build and manage transportation loads while monitoring unrouted orders.
- Coordinate shipment and delivery dates and manage customer add-on requests or load changes.
- Tender and manage transportation orders using SAP with tiered carrier rankings.
- Support transportation sourcing strategies through effective carrier management.
- Review, log, and approve carrier invoiced transportation costs.
- Generate cost, service, and performance reports.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Transportation teams to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Escalate complex transportation issues as needed while resolving routine issues independently.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant transportation, logistics, or supply chain experience, or 4 years of related professional experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with transportation carriers and shipment coordination.
Preferred:
- Experience using SAP or similar transportation management systems.
- Knowledge of transportation planning, carrier management, and logistics operations.
- Experience with shipment tracking, reporting, and customer communication.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll help ensure shipments move efficiently from plants and warehouses to customers by coordinating transportation activities, monitoring delivery performance, and proactively communicating shipment status. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence while helping maintain high customer service standards.
