Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to patients in need
- Assess the patient's condition and perform triage to determine the level of care required
- Administer necessary medical treatments and interventions according to established protocols
- Conduct physical examinations and obtain vital signs to monitor the patient's condition
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy to accurately communicate with healthcare professionals
- Safely transport patients to the hospital or other healthcare facilities
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Follow aseptic technique and infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Experience working in a fast-paced emergency medical services (EMS) environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Proficient in administering injections and medication as directed by medical professionals
- Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols
- Ability to drive an ambulance safely and responsibly
- Physical stamina and strength to perform job duties, including lifting and carrying patients
Skills:
- Triage: Ability to assess the severity of injuries or illnesses and prioritize care accordingly.
- Hospital: Knowledge of hospital procedures, protocols, and equipment.
- Physical examinations: Ability to conduct thorough physical assessments of patients.
- Medical terminology: Familiarity with medical terms and vocabulary used in healthcare settings.
- Drive: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Aseptic technique: Knowledge of sterile techniques to prevent infection.
- Vital signs: Proficiency in measuring and interpreting vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate.
- Anatomy knowledge: Understanding of human anatomy for accurate assessment and treatment.
- Experience administering injections: Ability to safely administer injections following proper protocols.
- Medication administration: Skill in administering medications accurately and safely.
