About Hampr
Hampr is on a mission to make laundry disappear from your to-do list. We're a fast-growing laundry-as-a-service company. We pick up dirty laundry, wash and fold it with care, and return it cleaner than the day you bought it — usually within 24 hours. We serve households, businesses, and properties across the country, and we're growing fast. We're building a brand people love and a service people can't live without.
About The Role
As VP of Operations, you are the senior-most leader of Hampr's physical operations. You own how our facilities run today and how they scale tomorrow. You'll take over our live facilities and the logistics teams that move laundry to and from our customers, and you'll lead the buildout and launch of new facilities as we open new markets. You'll inherit a small, live operating base — an operational facility in Los Angeles and another opening in Escondido — and a facility manager and field team already in place, then build the leadership layer and infrastructure that turns a fast-growing startup into a best-in-class national operation. This is a build-and-scale role on top of a real operating floor, and a chance to define a category. It calls for an operator who leads a growing org and still rolls up their sleeves to do the work — bringing the operational rigor, logistics expertise, and financial discipline to get it right, at speed. You'll report directly to the CEO.
Requirements
- Own the full physical operations function end-to-end — facilities, logistics, field workforce, and process infrastructure — across all current and future Hampr markets
- Run and scale live facility operations and their pickup/delivery logistics, taking over existing teams and continuing to build them out
- Lead new-facility buildout: once a site is selected, own execution from construction through hiring, training, and launch. You'll be a participant in site selection and accountable for everything after a site is settled
- Set the operating standard for OPL and full-service laundromat operations, and build a network of facility partners — codify what we learn in our own facilities into playbooks, standards, and support that measurably improve how our partners operate
- Establish a thoughtful robotics and automation strategy for our facilities. Identify the highest-impact opportunities, sequence them deliberately, and redesign labor and process around automation — never automating for its own sake
- Design, implement, and continuously improve operational processes and SOPs that drive consistency, quality, and efficiency at every facility
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operations leadership team — facility managers, logistics leads, and field supervisors
- Own the operations P&L — set budgets, manage costs, and optimize unit economics without sacrificing service quality
- Own the operational requirements and day-to-day use of our performance and logistics systems — route optimization, dashboards, and real-time visibility into facility health and workforce performance — partnering with our technology org, which builds them
- Partner with the CEO and exec. leadership team on market expansion strategy, operational readiness, and growth planning for new geographies
- Establish and enforce compliance standards across safety, labor, and regulatory requirements at all facilities
- Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using data, performance metrics, and frontline feedback to eliminate waste and raise the operational floor
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive operations leadership, with at least 5 years at Director level or above managing multi-site operations
- Proven track record scaling operations in logistics, fulfillment, facilities management, or services businesses — ideally with hands-on experience opening new locations
- Strong financial acumen with direct P&L ownership, including budgeting, cost management, and unit-economics modeling
- Deep expertise in process design and operational standardization — you've built SOPs from scratch and used them to drive measurable improvement
- Comfort partnering with automation and robotics — able to evaluate where it pays off, prioritize deployments, and redesign operations around it without over-investing ahead of the evidence
- Expert KPI builder and performance manager — you define metrics, work from dashboards, and hold teams accountable to outcomes, not activity
- Experience managing and developing multi-level operations leadership teams across dispersed locations
- Logistics or supply-chain background — route planning, fleet management, or last-mile delivery — is a plus
- Entrepreneurial operating mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, energized by building, and able to move fast without sacrificing precision
Who you are
- You're a builder. You don't need a blueprint to start. You take pride in creating something from scratch — putting your fingerprints on the work, and figuring it out as you go. You want to build something you can call your own, in a place where the work you do today is still visible in what the company looks like a year from now
- You own your outcomes. Your output is yours. Your wins are yours. You don't wait to be told what to do — you go figure it out and come back with results.
- You bring energy, and you bring grit
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel frequently across Hampr markets (up to 30% travel expected)
- Comfortable working in and conducting walkthroughs of laundry facility environments (warm, humid, industrial settings)
- Able to stand, walk, and move through facilities for extended periods during site visits and audits
